Montessoridays™ Wooden Shape Puzzle

⭐ Nine colourful shapes, each with a place to belong.

The Montessoridays™ Wooden Shape Puzzle brings familiar geometric forms onto one inset board. A circle, triangle, star and other shapes offer clear outlines for a child to compare as they lift, turn and return the pieces.

Montessoridays™ Wooden Shape Puzzle — play and product details

🖐️ Begin by removing only a few pieces.

Leave most of the board complete and offer a small first task. Your child can look at the empty spaces and try one shape at a time. A manageable choice makes the relationship between piece and outline easier to notice.

👀 Corners and curves offer different clues.

Look at the shape in the child's hand and compare it with an opening. A piece may need turning before it sits correctly. Let the fit guide the next attempt and avoid forcing a shape into a space that does not match.

Montessoridays™ Wooden Shape Puzzle — play and product details

🎨 A colour or name can join the discovery.

You might say “round” while the circle is being placed or name a colour the child chooses. Matching can happen before formal shape vocabulary is familiar. Keep the conversation connected to the action rather than turning every placement into a quiz.

💛 A complete board makes their effort visible.

The solid-wood puzzle is described for ages one to four and should be used with close supervision and the supplied label followed. Inspect the removable pieces and store them in the board after play. A familiar shape can be the first little success when the puzzle returns.

Why Buy Montessori?

👀 Distinct outlines support comparison.

Curves and corners give the child clues to a match. Choose one outline and look at the corners or curve together. The board gives the child a visible place to test a match, so the fit can guide the next attempt. Naming the shape can follow their discovery instead of replacing it with an answer.

🖐️ Placing requires deliberate alignment.

A piece may need turning before it fits. The child can see and feel when a shape belongs.

🌱 A partial board creates an easier start.

A few empty spaces can precede the full puzzle. A shape name relates to something the child has just handled. Leave most of the inset board complete and compare the few empty spaces with their pieces. Turning a shape gives another way to test the match. Familiar names can accompany the action, but finding the fit remains a worthwhile discovery in its own right.

Why Kids Love It?

⭐ Bright shapes invite a choice.

A favourite piece can be explored first. The colourful piece has a place where it belongs. Finding that fit gives the puzzle a little moment of completion they can proudly show you.

🧩 The matching space is waiting.

Finding it brings a satisfying fit. The board fills through their own actions.

💛 A familiar puzzle can be tried again.

The same shapes are ready for another success. An empty space has a piece that belongs there. Returning a star or circle completes a little part of the board, letting them watch the whole picture become complete through their own placements.

Great item for price

I painted under the shapes and think I made the puzzle easier for a 1 year old. Light weight, won't scratch wood furniture.

Good for the price, shape pieces are great

My one reason to give 4 instead of 5 stars is because the base puzzle part could have been painted or better finished. Even a solid color I feel like would have helped give more depth between shapes and top layer. I did end up painting (with standard cheap acrylic paint) the inside edges of the shapes on the board to make the puzzle easier for my 1 & half year old, but they also love playing with the shapes by themselves. The shape pieces themselves make this product worth it, and overall I love it for teaching intro to these shapes without paying twice as much for other puzzles.

Wonderful gift for tough 2 year old

My daughter is rough on everything, cardboard puzzles last less than a day. When I saw this one that is a fun puzzle but also teaches shapes and colors and is made of wood I had to test it out. Must say it was an excellent buy; she loves playing with it and can be rough on it without any concern!

Smaller than expected, but really cute!

This is a cute little puzzle, colorful and sturdy wood. However, LITTLE should be noted. I expected it to be a little bit bigger than it was, but I guess that's a hazard of buying online. Picture included to show size. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it and I'm sure my son will enjoy playing with it.

Perfect for learning!

I have not opened this yet as it is going to be a Christmas gift but I can already tell my kiddos will love it. We are all about learning our colors and shapes right now and this is the perfect combo of that. I like that they have extra shapes that aren’t your normal everyday ones so it pushes the child to learn more. It also seems very durable, which is a plus!

Not just for little ones!

Although for preschoolers, I thought the puzzle might be helpful for my 90 yr old Mom who has Alzheimer's. I was right. She put the pieces back into the puzzle board quickly, which gave her joyful victory! Success! Something she did have to think about but she could do. She didn't think of it as a baby's game, either, so it wasn't degrading at all. I took it a step further to ask her to say the colors, most of which she could (still) get right. This seems like a pretty good little tool to help keep her mind stimulated and tracking best it can.

Perfect for 1-3 year olds

This product is exactly as described: large blocks for small hands, colorful, easy for play, and great for 1-3 yr olds.
Blocks are too big to get all the way in a mouth so I do not have to be concerned with choking hazard but small enough that a small hand can easily grip.
Highly recommend!!

If My One Year Old Likes It, We're Good

I really like this set. I had already bought my 1 year old a number set that had pegs and she seemed to struggle with it a little. This set is perfect. It's not too big and not too small. The shape pieces slide in just the way I wanted them too, and it's pretty sturdy. Overall, I am pleased with this set. I've included some different photosto tryand help show the size and width of the shapes.

Great quality

I could not post more pictures but I am in love with this puzzle. Very good quality and it is perfect for tiny hands. Very well made. Colors are vibrant and even come with a sheet on the back with the name of the shapes. Perfect for when going out and need to take a toy with.

Thought it would be bigger, fairly small pieces.

A bargain for $30!

This puzzle has been through a lot with my 2 year old taking it everywhere (and throwing it haha). Still gets him engaged when needed. 5 stars!

Great toddler puzzle

Perfect for a toddler. Pieces are large and easily drop into their shapes on the board. Each shape is a different color so you can use it to teach colors, too. And of course the pieces are great for just joining the mix of the other toys scattered over the floor!

Great smaller size puzzle

I purchased this specifically to take to restaurants to keep our 21 month old occupied. She's just getting into shapes/colors and puzzles. The size is perfect for travel and the shapes fit easily in little hands. It arrived in a padded envelope and the puzzle itself was plastic wrapped. If you're looking for a smaller puzzle this is great and well worth the price in my opinion. Just as well made as other name brand wood puzzles.

She's 18 months and caught on to this one pretty quickly. The diamond got her a few times ...

My daughter loves puzzles. She's 18 months and caught on to this one pretty quickly. The diamond got her a few times in the beginning, but she mastered it pretty quickly. The pieces are a nice wood and not too thick or heavy.

One of my baby's favorite toys

I have a 6 month old and this is one of her favorite things to play with. She mostly chews on them but she also has fun watching me stack them and then knocking them over. Additionally, these are a great way to teach colors! I'm really hoping that the paint is safe is the only thing that concerns me.

Great fine motor and problem solving --- and just plain fun

Just a great find. So simple yet so much gained by my son by playing with this. He mastered it over the first week. But he and Dad 'play' with this most every day. My son loves it and I love the time I get to spend cheering him on. Fine motor skills, problem solving, shapes, colors, numbers..... so much to learn. GREAT BUY!

Great puzzle!

The blocks are large enough that her 9 month old sister can’t swallow them which is great if you have younger ones. The colors on the shapes are vibrant and the paint has yet to chip. This puzzle helped teach her shapes, colors and hand eye coordination.
Highly recommend gifting this to your child, family member or friend. For the price and quality of the product it is well worth the money.

Great educational toy!

This was one of the two or three puzzles I ordered for my grandson this week. He loves it. He's two years old he's already counting and saying the alphabet so I added this to his learning kit to help him get familiar with colors and shapes. I prefer wooden puzzles like this because it fits in the toddler's hands it helps him with his cognitive and motor skills. The toy is very well made no rough edges I don't have to worry about any splinters & the best part of it all is that he enjoys playing with this.

Nice, easy to use ....

My 3 year old grandson loved this as soon as we gave it to him for his 3rd birthday. He’s very good with puzzles, even more intricate ones, but his little hands sometimes limit him in doing some puzzles. This one? Yes, it’s pretty easy but, it’s also easy to hold the pieces to put them where they belong in the puzzle, without him getting frustrated. It’s great to give a gift and see how much it is liked by the one you bought it for. Great choice for his age level, in my opinion. Would probably be too easy for older kids.

Good material, non-toxic

These wooden puzzles are very good for toddlers at this age, mine is less than 2. She loves to put them back and shake them out. We were at the library the other day she wanted to play with all these kinds of matching blocks with animals, numbers and alphabets. Later I decided to get her these and let her play and learn from. You save my day!! I bought 3/4 of these and other brands so my kid can play all morning! A must have item for toddler now.

Fun for grandchild and grandparent

This review is written by Jack's wife, Dianne: Our 20-month-old grandson really enjoyed this puzzle. He grasped pretty quickly which piece went in which cut-out, although I think he loved emptying the pieces even better. I was surprised and delighted when he turned the board over and arranged the puzzle pieces on the board in an upright position.

Beautiful Basic Toy

This puzzle was given for a gift, and I got feedback from the parent that it was just the right thing for this stage in the child's life (2 years old).
I chose this because it's wooden and durable, because it can be used as a simple manual dexterity puzzle at age two, but will also be useful in naming colors and identifying shapes. It's not gimicky or commercialized -- a nice, classic piece!

Great product and value!

It's sturdy and well made. Plus the painted shapes were not stuck in the board when I received it, from being placed there wet to rush manufacturing. When positioned right the pieces fall easily into place. Without colors on the board to coincide with the colored shapes it also offers a bit more of a challenge.

Toddler Puzzle

Purchased this puzzle for my 18 month old daughter who loves these kinds of puzzles. The puzzle base and pieces are wooden and painted. She has played with this puzzle for a few months and some of the paint on the corners of the puzzle pieces have started to rub off. Recommend with supervision.

Well Made, Fun!

We love this product. Our baby is 11 months, and she enjoys touching the pieces and hearing the sounds the pieces make on the wood. The colors are perfect for baby’s this age, as they catch their attention. This is a very sturdy product, and I know it will last well into her toddler years. It would also make a perfect gift!

Well made wooden puzzle

My youngest grandchildren are learning about shapes and colors and they love this wooden puzzle. The wood pieces and board are smooth with no sharp edges. The colors of the shapes are vibrant and easy to clean. I highly recommend this puzzle!

Very good puzzle for toddlers

We bought this for our twenty-month-old granddaughter, and it was an immediate hit. It's so colorful and easy for her to take apart and put together. The pieces are a good size for her and easy to pick up. Best of all, it's wood, not plastic - comfortable to handle and nicely made.
