Start with the theme your child wants to explore. Look across the picture together before beginning a search, then focus on one target at a time. Give them time to scan the scene and describe where they found something. The interesting part is the looking, not how quickly the page is finished.
💬 A found object can start another conversation.
Talk about what an animal might be doing, where a traveller is going or what you would order in the restaurant. The themed scenes give new words a context, so the activity can move naturally between searching and storytelling.

Bigger than I expected, bright colorful, lots to look at. It's a great distraction at restaurants in the car etc...just larger than a placemat or paper so fun for kids

I am a speech-language pathologist and this is one of my go-to activities for vocabulary development along with many other themed activities and books. These are great and have taken a beating. Good value. My preschool and elementary kiddos love them.

Great for ages 2.5+! Don’t even need to use a dry erase maker, can sit with your child and point things out together. Other activities: make up stories to describe pictures, look at other items, ask child if there is anything he would add to/take away from to the scene. Very young children don’t mind doing this seek and find over and over. Very happy with the quality and price.

Very good craft project for young ones. It's a little too hard for my 3- & 5-year-old granddaughters, but it will be great in another year or so.
I have two littles and we went on a 15 hour car trip. This was a great find! There are so many pages so their fun lasts a long time and I love that the dry erase markers are included. Clean up is super easy so it's just a win-win for parents and kids.

My family was going on a long car trip. I needed to find multiple things for my 5-year-old to do in the car to keep him entertained. He really likes the search and finds in Highlights magazines. Although these aren't hidden pictures, each mat is filled with a number of items to find in each scene. The mats are approximately placemat size. The mats are of such quality that they are not hardback, but they are not floppy. I brought a clipboard in the car just to give my son something more tactile to hold on to as he used the marker. The 16 different backgrounds/pictures gave him something that he could keep coming back to but in a different way.
These search and find books are a fun and engaging way for children to explore and learn. My 5-year-old enjoyed using them, but she quickly finished the activities, so they might be more suitable for younger kids who are ready for a bit more of a challenge.
One feature I particularly appreciated is that the pages are designed for use with dry-erase markers, allowing for easy correction and reuse. This makes them an excellent choice for repeated play or for families with multiple children. Additionally, the vibrant colors and clear illustrations are visually appealing, which adds to the overall enjoyment.
In summary, these activity pages are a great tool for keeping kids entertained and can be used repeatedly, though they might not provide enough challenge for some children over time.
