Montessoridays™ Wooden Bug Catcher Kit
🐛 There is a tiny world just beyond the doorstep.
A leaf moves. Something small hurries past. Suddenly an ordinary walk has a question worth stopping for. The Montessoridays™ Wooden Bug Catcher Kit gives you tools to explore that curiosity together, with an observation house, magnifying glass, net and other discovery accessories. Slow down, look closely and let your child's next question lead the adventure.
🔍 Start by noticing, before collecting.
Look under a fallen leaf together or watch an insect travelling across a path. What colour is it? How does it move? The magnifying glass offers a way to look more closely, while the ruler can become a reference for comparing natural finds. A leaf or an empty shell can be just as interesting as a moving creature.
🖐️ Give each tool a thoughtful job.
The net, tong-style catcher and tweezers invite different ways of handling discoveries. Demonstrate gentle movements and choose appropriate finds together. If briefly observing a suitable insect in the house or cup, an adult should supervise and keep the observation short. Avoid stinging or unidentified creatures, and return living finds promptly to where you found them.
🌿 Curiosity and care can grow together.
Talk about the insect's home before letting it go. Watching it return to a leaf helps the outing end with respect for the living thing you met. There is no need to collect something on every walk: sometimes the best discovery is learning to watch without disturbing. Your attention shows that tiny details deserve time.
💛 Pack a little purpose into the next walk.
With eight listed pieces, the kit offers several starting points for outdoor exploration. Try a magnifier walk today and a measuring game with fallen leaves another day. Follow your child's interest, keep the tools under adult supervision and enjoy an outing where stopping to look is the whole point.

Responsibly Made
Made in an award-winning factory, with sustainably sourced wood for our wooden toys and 100% recyclable packaging.
The wood feels sturdy, not like the flimsy plastic kits we've had before.
My son spends hours in the backyard now looking for bugs instead of asking for the tablet.
So much fun
My 6 year old daughter loves bugs! She got this for Christmas and couldn't wait to go looking once the rain stopped. One of the containers has a magnifying glass so she can see her favorite bugs up close. A nice way to keep her busy while learning.
Very interesting toy for a 5 year old.
Bought two so my boys stop fighting over who gets the magnifying glass.
Love it!
No cracks or breaks yet after a few months of regular use.
We use it in the backyard and even on our screened porch on rainy days.
Highly recommend
My son caught his first ladybug with the net and was so proud of himself.
Great for my son's nature scout badge, he uses it constantly.
My granddaughter loves this! Very nice quality.
Bought this for my grandson's 4th birthday and he hasn't stopped catching bugs since.
The compass and tweezers are surprisingly well made for a kids toy.
Feels much sturdier than the plastic version we had before.
My daughter carries the bug house everywhere now, she calls it her science kit.
We got this a few months ago when the fireflies were everywhere, and it worked perfectly. My daughter, husband, and I used it all summer catching fireflies and other little critters. The quality is great, it feels very durable, and my 2 year old hasn't managed to break it yet. I love that it comes with so many little tools so the kids can catch and identify bugs without having to actually touch them.
Good quality for the price, holds up to our very active 5 year old.
Been in the backyard almost daily for a month and still looks new.
My son loves that he can catch and release bugs without touching them.
Took this camping and it kept the kids busy for hours at the campsite.
I gave this as a birthday present for my nephews, ages 7 and 5. Each got their own, and their mom says the kids love it. Definitely a good present.
Great quality
Great for keeping my son active and curious without a screen in sight.
Still holding up nicely after weeks of daily backyard use.
My twins fight over who gets to use the net first every time we go outside.
Compact enough to toss in a backpack for hikes and camping trips.
My daughter keeps the observation box on her nightstand like a little pet habitat.
The tools are just the right size for my 3 year old to use on her own.
A bit smaller than I expected but still a hit with my son.
We use this every time we go to the park. My kids love the magnifying glass.
My kids are obsessed
