Montessoridays™ Switch & Light Activity Board

💡 A little switch. A bright little discovery.

The Montessoridays™ Switch & Light Activity Board invites your child to explore a familiar fascination: making something happen with their own hands. Multiple switches and twenty-three LED lights bring actions and visible responses together on a compact wooden board, giving little fingers something to flip, press and notice.

Montessoridays™ Switch & Light Activity Board — product details 1

🖐️ Begin with one movement and one response.

Point out a switch and demonstrate its action slowly. Pause to watch the light, then let your child try. A clear beginning helps them connect what their hand did with what changed on the board. They may want to repeat the same movement many times before another control becomes interesting.

👀 Let curiosity choose the next detail.

The front includes a clock design and an LED circuit diagram, while an alphanumeric chart appears on the back. These add things to look at and talk about as your child explores. They are visual features to discover, not a requirement to learn time-telling, letters or numbers before enjoying the switches.

🔄 Repetition can be the enjoyable part.

On, off and on again may look simple to a grown-up. For a child, a repeatable response is something worth checking. Stay nearby, name the action when useful and allow time to notice what stays the same. Offer another switch when interest shifts rather than rushing through every feature.

💛 A compact activity for a shared pause.

The board measures 14.7 × 5.1 × 17.3 cm and uses two AAA batteries, which are not included. An adult should install and secure them before use. Recommended for ages one to three, the board belongs in supervised play: bring it out on a suitable surface, explore the controls together and enjoy the small moment when your child realises, 'I made that happen.'

Why Buy Montessori?

💡 Cause and effect can be seen.

A switch movement and a light response give the child a clear relationship to explore. Try one switch, watch the response, and put the question back to your child: what changed? The visible light gives their action an immediate result. Repeating the same control can be a way of checking an idea, not simply doing it again.

🖐️ Different controls invite different movements.

Pressing or flipping a control gives little hands a purposeful action guided by what they see. Trying the same switch again offers a familiar result. Leave time for that repeated exploration.

👀 Focus on one feature at a time.

A slow demonstration helps separate a single action from a busy-looking board. Words such as on, off, press and turn can belong to something the child is doing alongside you. Explore one control with your child and describe both parts of the event: a finger presses, then a light changes. Keeping the words close to the action makes cause and effect easier to discuss than presenting the board as a list of features.

Why Kids Love It?

💡 Their hands can make a light change.

The visible response gives a small action an interesting result. A little movement makes a light respond. Choosing which control to try next gives them that lovely feeling of being the person making something happen.

🖐️ There is another control to explore.

Different switches offer new movements when they are ready to try them. A repeatable response makes the board familiar as well as interesting.

💛 They can call you over to see it.

Share their surprise when a movement produces the effect they wanted. A favourite switch can become their own little demonstration. They can invite you to watch, operate it and show the light responding, enjoying the familiar result before deciding whether to explore a different control on the board.

Screen less entertainment

Really happy with this… it such a cool puzzle that keeps my 3 snd 6 year olds busy. All it need was batteries. It’s also resonably sized that I’ll bring it with us in the car or to the store.
They aren’t bored with it yet and it’s not a screen so I guess that all that matter lol

Small but mighty

Pretty small so check the dimensions but not a deal breaker because it’s easy for my 1.5 year old to hold it in his lap. It’s great for the car or restaurants too. Only complaint is the bulk of the options are switches. There is only one button. It would be nice to have more diversified options. But it’s fun and just what we wanted for our kids.

A toy I wish I had when I was little

Very cool idea for toddlers who love to investigate everything they can see and keep moving around from one thing to the next. It’s made of wood and sturdy lights and has a good battery cover. Also has two keys (don’t know why) that are on a non-removable string. I don’t know how long the wire with the plug will last though because it’s not very strong looking. Overall a great little toy for a future android engineer.

Fun and functional busy board

This busy board has been great for my toddler. Some reviews say it's smaller than expected, but it's the right size for smaller hands and gives him an outlet for the need to flip switches without turning house lights on and off (educational learning cause and effect). Plus - it's perfect to stick in his bag for on-the-go fun at restaurants or longer car trips.

Get this one if you don’t want noise!

I shopped for so long for one of these things. I had some strict criteria: many kinds of switches and toggles, no sound at all, good battery life, small enough to be portable but big enough so that it’s not boring, and a master switch.
This one ticked all the boxes. My 18 month old loves every button or switch he encounters, and while this doesn’t replace the joy of pushing a button he isn’t supposed to touch, it’s fun enough to keep him busy for around 10 minutes. That’s an eternity in baby time. So many switches, dials, toggles, and lots of different colored lights. It’s a little heavy, so adding a handle would be a huge improvement. He likes to carry it around and it’s hard for him to carry with one hand. That’s really the only thing I would change.

Great interactivity board for kids

Got this for a buddy’s kid’s first birthday. Sounds like it was a real hit with him with all the lights and things to twist. I picked this because it had some really good electronic and mechanical interactive devices that would be great for kids to learn from and enjoy. Batteries are hard for kids to get at too since they’re screwed in. Seems very well built and should hold up for a long time.
