These creative sticks really do encourage my littles creativity. I’m am surprised by the things he creates. Much easier than drawing this is just shape manipulation. Easy to clean up and fun to pull out.
I am using this in my classroom for my students to build their letters. It it is a great hands on tool that touches on the visual and tactile learners to succeed. The kids that love to build also enjoy this activity to create their own designs.
These are nicely made, smooth and have nice colors. They are lightweight and easy to handle. They will inspire my grandson to create with his own brain. We have played a bit before giving them to him as a gift and the adults had a blast. I think it challenges his brain and makes him think outside the box. Great gift.
This is such a fun learning resource. This is great for so many different learning activities and can also be just for play time. My 4 year old likes it much more than i thought she would. I really like that it comes with a stand to hold up the cards. The pieces are all made our of wood. This set is easy for her to use on her own when she is having an independent day which is more often than not now days. I highly recommend it. This is also perfect for a calm down corner activity.
Super impressed!
My kiddo loved this! It was a bit too tricky, even with help, for my 3 year old. But it’s great for developing fine and visual motor coordination skills!
The quality is really good. The cards it comes with at thick. I love how this helps kids with motor skills. Keeps the kids off their tablets.
Juego excelente para tus niños
such a great learning toy for my almost 5 year old. she loves playing with it at quiet time and has come up with some pretty creative creations!
This is a great game for kids or adults that teaches concentration as they have to focus to find the correct size and color pieces to create the picture. The cards are given a star rating based on difficulty which is helpful. There are no one star cards - the easiest level is two stars. You can use the picture to help determine whether your person is ready for these cards.
I got this set to use with my kindergarten class to teach the shapes and formation of letters. I thought it came with a set of cards that showed how to make each letter of the alphabet using the pieces, however, the cards that came with it only included a few letters. The other cards showed different creative designs and pictures you can make with the pieces. While the design cards are nice and the kids did enjoy trying to make different things using the cards, I was definitely disappointed that it wasn't a whole set of letters and I had to substitute my own letter cards.
Other than that, this is a nice, albeit small, set. The pieces are made of wood and I'm haply to say they seem pretty solid. I was worried they would break easily, but that hasn't been the case. The set comes with several different sizes of straight and curved line pieces. This is a great fine motor activity and great for getting kids to think in terms of what kinds of lines are used to create different shapes, letters, numbers and objects. This helps them to visualize and better write or draw.
I like the concept of this toy. Creating with the sticks and rings is great for those little hands and minds. Some of the pictures may be a little tricky for some kids who need everything just perfect but overall a good learning tool for your little learners.
Montessori Matching Puzzle toys sticks and rings puzzle is a fun and educational activity. My students use a sticky mat underneath so the pieces stay in place. You can match the shapes using the pattern cards or use your creativity to make your own designs. The Montessori approach promotes problem solving, critical thinking and fine motor skills. Unfortunately, these pieces do not appear all that sturdy and I can see them easily breaking. I also wish there were more alphabet letter cards which would expand the versatility of the toy. I tell my students that all upper case letters are formed using long and short lines and long and short curves put together. This would have been a great way to teach the letters formations before using a pencil and paper.
This is a great learning toy - made of wood, lightweight with soft surface -my 3 year old granddaughter loves playing with it - it is great for children’s creativity and imagination, and helps with their eye hand coordination as well - it comes with a pouch, and some pattern suggestion cards with different difficulty levels. Even I love to play with it. The parts are small and it’s best if smaller kids be supervised around
them. Great fun toy.
My soon to be 4 year old loves this toy. He prefers to create his own images as opposed to using the idea cards, but I found the cards helpful and fun pictures to create. There are plenty of pieces for 2 people to create at the same time. The set came with a nice fabric bag for storing the wooden pieces, which I thought was a nice touch. The pieces are on the smaller side, so I wouldn’t keep them out around babies or toddlers, but it’s a great preschool toy.
This was a popular addition to my kindergarten classroom literacy lab. I'm considering another set as this toy is the first choice for most of my students. They practice building letters and then are excited to challenge themselves to construct other figures. They pieces are durable and bright and came in useful carrying bag.
I love having all different toys for the resident 5 year old here. This is something that I have not seen before and I was intrigued. It comes with different cards for different skill levels and then you place a card in the wooden slot and create the picture. Or your child can free play and create what they wish.
I really enjoyed trying this out from an adult perspective. One thing I noticed was doing it on the wood table or the Formica countertop was somewhat hard as the colorful wood pieces are very light weight and tend to slide around on the slick surface. So I tried it out on a silicone arts and crafts mat and that was much easier. Our 5 year old has a hard time sitting still and is working on fine motor skills and I want this to not be frustrating, but rather, a fun and creative time.
I imagine that in Free Play, we are going to see mostly cars and trucks which is just fine. My goal in getting this is for:
Fun and creativity
Working on fine motor skills
Learning to follow directions
Learning to sit still for a project
Working on patience and finishing a short term project
Coming up with original ideas
Playing with something that is without a screen or batteries
I would purchase this again and love that it is something really different!
The overall quality of the pieces seem pretty good and the shapes give the kids so many options.
This is a great classroom resource my students love using these sticks to make different things. Very easy for the kids to use and easy for me to clean them definitely a must have in an elementary classroom.
I couldn't wait to try out this puzzle. All those little pieces can make so many things! The card suggestions are just the start. A four year old can move the pieces into place. A silicone mat or a piece of felt will help keep them from sliding around. As your child manipulates the pieces, you can talk about what he is making, how his fingers are moving - squeezing, pushing, stacking, joining. You can talk about how he sees colors, chooses colors that match, chooses shapes (longer or shorter, rounded, straight, etc.) So many ways to learn using this puzzle. And if you don't have time to set down with him, he can still learn by himself, using his imagination. There doesn't have to be a right or wrong to it.
My 4 year old daughter has been having a blast with these. I love the creativity and the tactile learning. My daughter follows the cards and also makes up her own images. We challenge ourselves to make letters and numbers that aren’t on the cards as well. These have been a wonderful independent play activity. The reason I took one star away was that one of the pieces quickly broke. On top of that some of the cards are inaccurate and can not be reproduced with the pieces shown.
I got these so I could work with my grandson, teaching and having fun at the same time.
This isn't necessarily something that you just hands a child and expect them to understand, but rather you work with them. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much interest their little minds have in learning and growing.
I highly recommend this set
Let’s be honest, kids and adults in my classroom are enjoying this set. It combines shapes, spatial awareness, and creativity. And because you can build letters with these pieces, it also includes some alphabet awareness. My only concern is that some of the pieces are small and/or thin, so I’m hoping they don’t get lost or broken with my kindergartners.
This is great Montessori style for teaching letters to children. It also helps with problem solving, pattern recognition and following instructions. It comes with a bag, some pattern cards, a stand for the cards and the wooden pieces. I wish there were 3 lengths of the straight stick as just the short and long make for some strange formations of letters but I'm happy with it nonetheless.
I really like that this set includes cards for both fun pictures as well as letters of the alphabet. I think this will be a great learning and fine motor activity for all of our kids who span from toddler age to lower elementary. While I love wooden toys for kids, I am a little worried about how thin these pieces are; I don't know why, but when I saw the listing for these I expected the pieces to be considerably bigger and in turn thicker than what they really are. I just worry that they could easily be snapped by a heavy-handed child even by accident. Other than that, I think this is a really great resource for early learners.
I love the bright colors and shapes that can be made with these sticks and curves. I was under the impression that there were all alphabet cards included to be used as a a learning toy. The only alphabet cards that come with it are shown. With a little more time and care the sticks and curves could be made so that each uppercase letter is the same height when built or at least more close in scale and proportion. Also there are no dots to dot the i or j. If you are using this as a creative play you you will love using it. If you are using this to help someone learn how to build the shape of a letter you may be a bit disappointed.
The set comes with several wooden pieces, 20 double-sided cards (for a total of 40 letters/pictures), and a wooden stand to place a card in. The cards are given difficulty levels. It is fun way for kids to learn to follow patterns and be creative and build their own creations. It is fun for older kids and adults, too! My only disappointment is that there are only cards for 4 letters (Aa, Bb, Gg, and Hh), and I was hoping there would be cards for all 26 letters, but I can make cards for the other letters. Our 6 year old enjoys making his own designs.
