Montessori Sorting Toys
Build early reasoning by spotting what belongs together. Sorting by colour, shape or size gives your child practice comparing, choosing and organising—the foundations for recognising patterns.

Why is sorting more than tidying pieces?
Find a shared feature
A matching colour or shape gives children a rule they can see. Begin with one obvious difference and a small choice of pieces.
Put a decision into action
Picking up and placing the chosen piece connects looking with controlled movement. Select a grip or tool suited to your child’s stage.
Look again when the rule changes
Some activities offer more than one feature to compare. When the first task is familiar, try a different grouping together.
Compare the sorting rule, piece size and tools included. A tweezer game and a simple shape match ask different things of little hands.
